Just for Adults

Child friendly accomodation in FranceWe hope that some of these little extras will add to your stay with us:

Home cooked meals: Perhaps you want to take a break from cooking? We provide a wide selection of home-cooked meals, all made by Nicki using only the finest fresh local ingredients. Available any night, delivered direct to your door, ready to pop into the oven. Very popular and ideal for your night of arrival. see menu below.

Wine Tasting: We host a wine-tasting on a Monday evening* with a local wine merchant, giving you a chance to try many of the wines of the region and throughout France. It's an ideal way to meet and get to know fellow guests.

Babysitting: Why not have a night or two away from the kids? We only use local English speaking babysitters that we know and trust for our babysitting service.

Maid Service: From a daily clean, mid-week sort out, to a end of stay blitz (we ask that you leave our cottages clean and tidy). Let us take the strain.

Pizza Napoletana night: Last winter (2010/2011) after much research! David built an authentic Napoletana brick pizza oven on the Bergerie terrace. For the last 12 months we have been honing our pizza recipes and techniques in readiness for hosting our communal Pizza Napoletana evenings for the 2012 season. Nothing tastes like Pizza Napoletana made with simple fresh local ingredients hot out of a wood-fired pizza oven!

Relaxation treatments:Family Friendly holidays south west france
We have a new masseuse, Karin. The list of treatments for this year has been simplified based on the feedback we have received from our guests. Karin can offer 30 min or 1 hour treatments - Full body, head & shoulders (suitable for expectant mums), or  an upper body massage. Nearby at our friends the Hostellerie-du-Perigord we can arrange a vast array of spa pampering treatments.

Nicki's home-cooked meals, menu from last summer:

Blanquette d’agneau
To the uninitiated, this is a creamy lamb dish cooked with a little celery, onion and carrot until the lamb is really tender. Finished with cream, it is particularly yummy with new potatoes and seasonal veg (included). 9 euros.

Spiced Lamb with Coconut
Chunks of succulent lamb cooked in spices, tomatoes and finished off with coconut, yoghurt and mango chutney – the result being a gorgeous dish with just enough of a kick - served with rice (included). 9 euros.

Mushroom Stroganoff
Perfect for vegetarians, this beautiful stroganoff made with selected mushrooms, purchased from the local markets, are cooked with onions, cream and paprika - served with fresh tagliatelle – gorgeous! 6 euros.

Spaghetti Bolognaise
This is a recipe from Ross Burden (of Ready Steady Cook fame). I first made it on a pasta and risotto day with him in September 2005. A really flavoursome spag bol sauce - my son loves it and he would never try mine before. Served with garlic bread and spaghetti, at 6 euros.

Carbonnade of Beef
I am sure you will have heard of this French recipe – beef cooked slowly in beer with carrots, onions and finished off with toasted slices of French bread spread with mustard - simply wonderful with new potatoes (included) and melted butter. 7 euros.

Latimer Beef
Beef cooked to perfection with the addition of a few well chosen spices and finished with a small spoonful of horseradish sauce, to give a nice little kick. Ideal with new potatoes and seasonal veg (included). 7 euros.

Fish Pie
Made with only the best - salmon, cod and large prawns all combined in a cream sauce and topped with the best creamy mashed potato around! Available, at 9 euros.

Prawn Provencale
A very generous helping of beautiful tiger prawns cooked in a tomato, onion, garlic and herb sauce and served quite simply with rice (included). 9 euros.

Chicken à l’indienne
A really fruity chicken curry, with quite a bit of umpf (suitable for children who like curry!). Just great with plain boiled rice (included) at 7 euros.

Tarragon Chicken
What is it about Chicken and Tarragon - yum. The chicken is cooked with our home grown tarragon to enhance the flavour, together with garlic, wine (of course, this is France). The juices are then reduced and a little cream added - excellent with new potatoes and seasonal veg (included). 7 euros.

Creamy Chicken Pie
Chunks of chicken with carrot and onion, combined in a delicious creamy sauce and topped with to die for puff pastry - your choice of our scrummy mashed potato or new potatoes at 7 euros per portion with veg.

Fillet Pork Dijonnaise
Medallions of fillet pork beautifully brown and topped with a delicious sauce of cream and dijonnaise mustard – simple but beautiful. A choice of either new potatoes and veg or fresh tagliatelle are included in the price of 8 euros.
