Menu from Summer 2007:

Blanquette d’agneau
To the uninitiated, this is a creamy lamb dish cooked with a little celery, onion and carrot until the lamb is really tender. Finished with cream, it is particularly yummy with new potatoes and seasonal veg (included). 9 euros.

Spiced Lamb with Coconut
Chunks of succulent lamb cooked in spices, tomatoes and finished off with coconut, yoghurt and mango chutney – the result being a gorgeous dish with just enough of a kick – served with rice (included). 9 euros.

Mushroom Stroganoff
Perfect for vegetarians, this beautiful stroganoff made with selected mushrooms, purchased from the local markets, are cooked with onions, cream and paprika – served with fresh tagliatelle – gorgeous! 6 euros.

Spaghetti Bolognaise
This is a recipe from Ross Burden (of Ready Steady Cook fame). I first made it on a pasta and risotto day with him in September 2005. A really flavoursome spag bol sauce – my son loves it and he would never try mine before. Served with garlic bread and spaghetti, at 6 euros.

Carbonnade of Beef
I am sure you will have heard of this French recipe – beef cooked slowly in beer with carrots, onions and finished off with toasted slices of French bread spread with mustard – simply wonderful with new potatoes (included) and melted butter. 7 euros.

Latimer Beef
Beef cooked to perfection with the addition of a few well chosen spices and finished with a small spoonful of horseradish sauce, to give a nice little kick. Ideal with new potatoes and seasonal veg (included). 7 euros.

Fish Pie
Made with only the best – salmon, cod and large prawns all combined in a cream sauce and topped with the best creamy mashed potato around! Available, at 9 euros.

Prawn Provencale
A very generous helping of beautiful tiger prawns cooked in a tomato, onion, garlic and herb sauce and served quite simply with rice (included). 9 euros.

Chicken à l’indienne
A really fruity chicken curry, with quite a bit of umpf (suitable for children who like curry!). Just great with plain boiled rice (included) at 7 euros.

Tarragon Chicken
What is it about Chicken and Tarragon – yum. The chicken is cooked with our home grown tarragon to enhance the flavour, together with garlic, wine (of course, this is France). The juices are then reduced and a little cream added – excellent with new potatoes and seasonal veg (included). 7 euros.
