There are six self catering holiday cottages (or
gites
as they are know as in France) in the grounds of the picturesque
chateau, which dates back to the 15th century and stands in 14 acres of
meadows and woodland.
The chateau is situated on the edge of the tranquil little village of
Gurat (with 10th Century Gallo-Roman church, 2 bars, post office and
petrol station).
Situated
in the beautiful countryside of the Charente Dordogne region, we offer a
year round base for discovering South-West France (assistance available
with house hunting).
The village of Gurat lies between
Villebois-Lavalette (with magnificent hilltop fortified Chateau) and
Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, officially one
of "les plus beaux villages de France" - the most beautiful villages of
France.
